Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Odisha’s I&PR Department actively participated in the national campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0”, launched to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The campaign encourages public engagement through tree plantation and environmental conservation, reflecting Odisha’s commitment to both greenery and community participation.
The Information and Public Relations Department of Odisha also participated by organizing a tree plantation drive in its office premises. Senior officials including Director Anuj Das Pattnaik, Technical Director Gurvir Singh, Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Behuria, Joint Secretary Sek Kalam Uddhin, Deputy Director Sucheta Priyadarshini, and Ashwini Kumar Bhoy planted saplings along the front area. Other departmental officers and staff actively joined the plantation drive.
The campaign emphasizes environmental conservation, social unity, and citizen engagement. Each tree planted symbolizes the state’s commitment to ecological balance and encourages public responsibility. Participants highlighted that such initiatives unite society while promoting sustainable development.
Launched on PM Modi’s birthday, the campaign aims to inspire citizens nationwide to plant trees in homes, offices, and educational institutions. Odisha’s active involvement today reinforces its dedication to preserving the environment and promoting community participation. Officials appreciated the enthusiasm of participants and reiterated that the state will continue similar programs to support ecological awareness and public service.
