Bhubaneswar, Odisha : To reduce exam-related stress, familiarize students with the new exam pattern, and boost confidence before the final board examinations, the Odisha government has launched the Digital mock test 12th initiative for the first time.
In a major move to help students prepare better for the upcoming board examinations, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, announced the launch of online mock tests for Class XII students.
The mock tests will cover students from Science, Commerce, and Arts streams. Moreover, by logging into the official CHSE portal, students can attempt the mock tests at their convenience.
“These online practice tests will simulate the real examination environment. “Furthermore, students will not only practice the question pattern but also develop effective time management through the test.”
The CHSE released guidelines for students. Each test follows the same duration and marking scheme as the final examination. Therefore, students can use it as a self-assessment tool.
Experts carefully designed the mock test papers. After submitting the test online, students can immediately view their scores, along with detailed feedback on their performance.
Students, teachers, and parents have widely welcomed this initiative. In addition, such digital practice tests help students adopt modern examination methods and reduce pressure.
Educationists said that it gives students a chance to identify their weakness and work on them before the final board exams. For rural students, who may not have easy access to coaching facilities, the mock tests provide major support.
Apart from online access, CHSE also plans to release downloadable question sets for students with limited internet connectivity. Thus, these students can practice offline and later upload their answers for evaluation.
As per CHSE guidelines, students must attempt the test in one sitting. Students cannot retake the same paper. Besides, they must submit their answers within the given time frame.
CHSE urged all schools to ensure every student participates in these mock sessions.
CHSE also clarified that these are purely preparatory tools designed for student benefit.
This move by CHSE reflects a progressive shift toward digital learning and exam preparation. As a result, they believe such steps will make Odisha’s higher secondary students more competitive at the national level.
