Fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into the sea until the weather improves. In Chennai, skies are likely to remain cloudy with intermittent showers in several parts of the city.
Meanwhile, the Greater Chennai Corporation and Tamil Nadu Disaster Management Authority have activated emergency control rooms. They have directed officials to monitor river levels and low-lying areas to prevent flooding and ensure public safety.
