Angul, Odisha: In an inspiring initiative to promote digital safety, a Cyber Security Awareness Programme was held at O.P. Jindal School, Angul. This event was in collaboration with the Odisha Government and Odisha Police. The aim was to educate young minds about growing cyber threats in today’s digital world, highlighting the importance of cyber security awareness. Additionally, it aimed to show how to stay safe online.
The programme began with a special video message from the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha. He emphasized the importance of responsible online behavior as part of cyber security awareness. Students listened attentively as experts shared valuable insights on issues such as hacking, SIM swapping, phishing, and online frauds. These are all major challenges of the digital era.
Distinguished guests included Dr. Ashwini Kumar Sahu, Chairman of the school. Ms. Upasana Padhi, Additional SP, Ms. Jigyansa Behera, DSP (DIB), and members from Angul Nisha Police Station also graced the event. They encouraged the students to become cyber-smart citizens through enhanced cyber security awareness.
The interactive sessions allowed students to ask questions and understand how to identify and report online scams, which are crucial facets of cyber security awareness. Officials stressed the importance of strong passwords, privacy settings, and critical thinking before clicking on suspicious links.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Sahu thanked the Odisha Police team for conducting such an insightful and practical awareness drive.
