Cuttack, Odisha : Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Shri Suresh Pujari chaired a high-level review meeting today at the conference hall of the Cuttack Collectorate. During the session, officials discussed ways to implement land and revenue schemes effectively, including distributing land pattas under the Bhoodhan scheme to landless families, identifying previously allotted homestead lands, regularizing lands for educational institutions, and allocating lands under the Forest Rights Act. Ongoing projects such as SIKIM, Bebandobast, and other forest land-related initiatives also came under detailed review.
Shri Pujari instructed officials to resolve disputes over encroached lands promptly. He emphasized addressing the needs of the elderly, vulnerable, and other affected citizens, while directing Tahsildars to take timely and proper actions. Officials were asked to bring unused government land under official records for development projects and grant revenue village recognition to various settlements. The Minister further stressed completing land acquisition for projects such as the Capital Region Ring Road (CRRR) and protecting government land through strict enforcement of zero-tolerance policies against encroachments.
Focusing on efficiency, the Minister highlighted the importance of delivering revenue services effectively to citizens. Strengthening governance, implementing institutional reforms, and submitting new proposals to improve land and revenue management also featured in his directives. He assured proper allocation of land and recruitment of necessary personnel in Cuttack district while expressing satisfaction with ongoing initiatives.
During the meeting, Cuttack Collector and District Magistrate Shri Duttatraya Bhausaheb Shinde personally oversaw revenue department reports. Additional Collector (Revenue) Dr. Divyalochan Mahant briefed the Minister on the current situation. Legislators including Devi Ranjan Tripathy, Choudwar MLA Souvik Biswal, Cuttack Sadar MLA Eng. Prakash Chandra Sethi, Niali MLA Chabi Mallik, Badamba MLA Bijay Kumar Dalabehera, and Mahanga MLA Sarda Prasad Pradhan participated along with sub-divisional officers, Tahsildars, Deputy Collectors, and other senior officials.
Shri Pradeep Kumar Sahu, personal secretary to the Minister, coordinated the review. Additional Collector Shri Shiva Topo extended gratitude to the Minister for his guidance and support. Officials committed to expediting land dispute resolutions and strengthening the district’s revenue administration.
