Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Cuttack Railway Station is set for a major facelift with the construction of an Air Concourse Grid, granite flooring, and precast coping block installation. The project also includes platform surface renovation, new passenger shelters, pile foundations, steel columns, and enhanced safety measures.
To facilitate the works, from August 11 to September 21, three long-distance trains will be diverted for 40 days. Instead of the usual Baranga–Cuttack–Kapilas Road route, these trains will operate via Baranga–Naraj Marthapur–Kapilas Road, skipping Cuttack Station entirely.
During this period, Naraj Marthapur Railway Station will serve as a temporary halt for the affected trains, which include:
- Coimbatore–Silchar Weekly Superfast Express
- Ernakulam–Patna Bi-weekly Express
- Bengaluru–Guwahati Tri-weekly Express
The diversion aims to ensure uninterrupted passenger service while allowing Cuttack Station to receive its much-awaited modernisation upgrade.
