Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, a high-level meeting was held at Lok Seva Bhavan today to review the progress of proposed independent development projects in Cuttack. The session was attended by Cuttack District Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Sinde and senior officials from various state government departments.

Discussions focused on key urban development projects, including the construction of vending zones, an IT park, and a convention center at OMP Chowk. Plans for developing shops, government housing, and vending zones at Ranihat Chowk were finalized, along with necessary infrastructure improvements such as roads near government press and Khapuria areas. Landscaping and vending zones around Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab statue, Utkal Gourav Madhusudan Das Birthplace, and Satyabhama Pur were also discussed for coordinated development.

The meeting further addressed road improvements from Trishulia Chowk to Nandankanan, ensuring seamless connectivity. Proposals for a barrage at the Mahanadi River were reviewed, considering flood control, water supply for industries, drinking water, and irrigation requirements. Updates on the restoration of Badamba Chini Kalan, progress of the Handloom project in Nuapada, Bhagatpur Spinning Mill, and Cuttack Woolspun Textiles were shared. Plans for cold storage facilities, land development at Naraj, and MSME park construction in multiple locations were also deliberated.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja provided guidance to resolve ongoing construction challenges and accelerate project execution. He advised department secretaries to maintain coordination with the Cuttack District Collector for efficient implementation and timely completion of development initiatives.

The meeting highlighted Odisha’s commitment to sustainable urban growth, industrial expansion, and improved civic amenities. By addressing both infrastructural and industrial priorities, the state aims to ensure long-term benefits for residents and enhance economic development in Cuttack.
