Srinagar : The Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing of Jammu and Kashmir CID carried out searches at eight locations across seven districts of the Valley on Saturday in connection with an ongoing militancy-related probe.
Officials said CIK teams raided Srinagar, Baramulla, Anantnag, Kupwara, Handwara, Pulwama, and Shopian simultaneously.
They explained that CIK obtained search warrants from a competent court before launching the operations linked to a militant case under investigation.
The case involves the suspected nexus between certain individuals and militant networks operating in Kashmir.
Sources said the teams searched the sites to gather digital and physical evidence that could help push the investigation forward.
During the operation, they seized several documents and electronic devices for forensic analysis. Officials confirmed that no arrests took place during the raids.
CIK teams worked with local police and CRPF units to carry out the coordinated searches.
Security forces have intensified operations against terrorists, their overground workers (OGWs), and sympathisers across Jammu and Kashmir.
Intelligence officials said drug smugglers and peddlers remain on their radar since they believe funds generated from narcotics and hawala rackets sustain terrorist networks in the Union Territory.
By targeting terrorists, OGWs, sympathisers, and drug cartels together, joint forces aim to dismantle the entire terror ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
Investigators have also traced many drug and hawala operations to handlers across the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border (IB).
Along with routine criminal investigations, passport verification, and intelligence gathering, Jammu and Kashmir CID operates two specialised wings: CIK Kashmir and CIK Jammu.
The CID also runs the State Investigation Agency (SIA), which handles high-profile crime and militancy-related cases.
