Bhubaneswar, Odisha : On the occasion of Independence Day 2025, Chief Minister of Odisha highlighted the state government’s remarkable achievements in employment generation and skill development. Emphasizing efficiency in both public and private sectors, the Chief Minister underscored the importance of adequate manpower to strengthen governance and drive Odisha’s growth.

Since the new government assumed office, 28,392 government vacancies have been filled, with 34,500 more appointments underway through various commissions. Additionally, approval for 22,896 vacant positions is expected shortly. The government had initially targeted 65,000 appointments in two years; however, the current trajectory indicates that over 85,000 positions will be filled well ahead of schedule, reflecting unprecedented speed and efficiency in recruitment.

In alignment with national initiatives, Odisha is actively participating in the Agniveer Scheme, a visionary program launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi to empower and train the youth for national service. The state government has decided to operationalize the Agniveer training program to enable a large number of young men and women in Odisha to join and benefit from this transformative initiative.

Beyond government jobs, the Odisha administration is taking proactive steps to enhance employment in the private sector. Recently, the Union Cabinet approved the establishment of a semi-conductor industry in Odisha, marking a major milestone in electronics and IT development. This initiative is set to create thousands of new jobs, attract substantial investment, and revolutionize the state’s industrial landscape.

The Chief Minister emphasized that these efforts are not just about filling vacancies but about equipping Odisha’s youth with skills and opportunities to excel in diverse sectors. By focusing on both governmental efficiency and private sector growth, the state aims to create sustainable employment, drive industrialization, and position Odisha as a hub for technology and innovation.

As Odisha celebrates Independence Day 2025, the state’s focus on employment generation, skill enhancement, and youth empowerment reflects a comprehensive approach to inclusive development and economic transformation.
