Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will lead the CM Majhi Nuapada visit on 16th October 2025 as part of his Bypoll campaign. He will address a public meeting, engage with farmers and women, and likely announce new schemes focusing on agriculture, irrigation, migrant workers, drinking water, and rural mobile networks.
As the Nuapada Bypoll approaches, the ruling BJP is strategizing to win the seat through the inauguration of several flagship government schemes. Experts further note that the Lotus party is focusing on Nuapada to make western Odisha a growth engine for the ruling BJP. Therefore, the strategy aims to use western Odisha districts as a launchpad to expand the party’s base and counter the BJD in border areas of Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Additionally, BJP plans to reduce rural votes for the Congress and maintain distance from the party on the ground.
CM Majhi’s visit carries several factors designed to woo voters. For instance, his discussions with farmers indicate that the Mohan Majhi government is focusing on agriculture and farmers’ development, including irrigation solutions.
Meanwhile, migration remains a major problem for the district. Thus, BJP has planned measures to contain cross-border migration with states like Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik is set to participate in a Padayatra on his birthday in Bhubaneswar. In response, analysts opine that BJP is strategizing to counter Naveen’s Padayatra and overlap the narrative of the BJD.
Furthermore, to promote women empowerment, the CM is likely to announce attractive schemes for Self Help Groups (SHGs). CM Majhi’s Nuapada visit is crucial for the BJP to retain momentum.
Overall, his visit also signals that the ruling BJP will continue to strengthen its position in western Odisha. The Nuapada Bypoll is not just a political fight; instead, it is a battle of prestige for all major political parties.
Notably, this is CM Majhi’s second visit to Nuapada during the Bypoll campaign.
