Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The spiritual legacy of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhupada and the century-long journey of Sri Sachchidananda Math, Cuttack, took centre stage as Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi graced the grand celebrations at the Jawaharlal Indoor Stadium.
In his address, the Chief Minister described Srila Prabhupada as “a living embodiment of devotion, service, and humanity” whose teachings continue to illuminate moral and spiritual paths across generations.
“Srila Prabhupada was not merely a saint, teacher, or preacher — he was a guiding light whose life philosophy, rooted in the timeless messages of the Gita and the Bhagavata, inspires us to dedicate our lives in service to the Divine,” CM Majhi said.
Reflecting on the 100-year journey of Sri Sachchidananda Math, the Chief Minister praised the institution’s role in “spreading the light of knowledge while guiding society on the path of duty and self-realisation”.
He noted that in today’s fast-paced, material-driven world, such spiritual awakening is an invaluable treasure for humanity.
“In the past century, this Math has gone beyond nurturing faith — it has promoted education, philanthropy, saintly fellowship, community service, and moral guidance for youth,” the CM added.
The Chief Minister emphasised that Srila Prabhupada’s vision remains strikingly relevant:
“If embraced, his ideals can help establish universal brotherhood, true happiness, prosperity, and peace in today’s society. This celebration is not just a commemoration, but a pledge to remain steadfast in the path of devotion and service.”
He further remarked that true devotion purifies the human soul, and that Srila Prabhupada’s path must be integrated into everyday life for it to be truly meaningful.
Gaudiya Mission President Srimad Bhakti Sundar Sanyasi Goswami Maharaj described Srila Prabhupada as “an unending book of wisdom that one could study for a lifetime and still not exhaust”.
Revenue & Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, and Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, also shared their reflections, praising the enduring impact of Srila Prabhupada’s mission.
The dais was also graced by Srimad Bhakti Vichar Bharati Maharaj, Gaudiya Mission committee member Umesh Khandelwal, and other dignitaries.
