Jharsuguda, Odisha : In a district-level event held at the Jharasuguda Engineering School Auditorium on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi and the newly observed Nuakhai festival, Chief Minister (CM) assistance fund was distributed to 43,626 small and marginal farmers and 357 landless farmers in Jharasuguda.
Jharsuguda MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, who attended the program, highlighted that the central and state governments are committed to increasing farmers’ income through targeted schemes. He emphasized that the state government is dedicated to the welfare of farmers by modernizing local mandis and accelerating irrigation through integrated projects.
Mr.Tripathy also advised farmers on diversifying crop production beyond paddy and assured support for market creation for produce.
District Collector Kunal Motiram Chhawan and Bargarh MP Representative Sunil Kumar Panda were present to witness the distribution. The program also included symbolic cheques of ₹2,000 to selected farmers from each block and soil health cards for improved cultivation.
Financial aid was further extended under various schemes:
₹5 lakh to Kolabira Ma Vaishnavi SHG
₹30,000 to Dalki Jay Ma Tarini SHG
₹25,000 to four beneficiaries under Seed Money Revolving Fund
₹50,000 to Badmal Adi Anadi SHG for Millet Tiffin Center
₹10,250 to two farmers and ₹6,250 to another two farmers under Integrated Farming
District Chief Agriculture Officer Pradeep Kumar Nanda provided additional details on the program.
The initiative reinforces Odisha government’s focus on farmer welfare, crop diversification, irrigation infrastructure, and financial empowerment, ensuring sustainable agricultural growth across Jharasuguda.
