Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Eastern Region Civil Aviation Ministers’ Conference will be held on August 25, 2025, at MAYFAIR Convention, Bhubaneswar. The landmark event will bring together Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, State Ministers, senior government officials, and industry leaders to deliberate on strengthening the civil aviation sector across Eastern India.
The conference will be inaugurated by Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, who will deliver the keynote address. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha will attend as the Chief Guest, while Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Shri Murlidhar Mohol, will join the inaugural session. The programme will open with a welcome address by Shri Madhu Sudana Sankar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, followed by a states’ perspective shared by Smt. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department, Government of Odisha.
The day-long deliberations will cover key themes such as airport and heliport development models, the UDAN scheme and regional connectivity, drone ecosystem expansion, aviation skill development, and the future of Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS). Dedicated one-on-one sessions with six participating states will highlight region-specific priorities, while industry interactions will explore investment opportunities, PPP models, and innovation in the aviation ecosystem.
Delegations from Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands will participate. Senior officials from MoCA, AAI, DGCA, BCAS, and AERA will also be present, ensuring a comprehensive platform for policy dialogue and decision-making.
The plenary session will include opening remarks by Shri Samir Kumar Sinha, Secretary, MoCA, and addresses from state ministers. The event will conclude with a closing keynote by Shri Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, outlining the Government of India’s vision for expanding regional connectivity, modernizing infrastructure, and promoting drones and air ambulance services.
By hosting this conference, Odisha reaffirms its role as an emerging aviation hub in Eastern India and as a key partner in driving India’s civil aviation growth story.
