Jharsuguda, Odisha : With just two days left for Chhath Puja 2025, the festive spirit has taken over the city. The sacred festival, dedicated to the worship of the Sun God, symbolizes gratitude, purity, and harmony with nature. While the festival is deeply rooted in Bihar’s traditions, it has now become a grand celebration across Jharsuguda and several parts of India.

As devotees prepare to offer arghya to the setting Sun on October 27 and the rising Sun on October 28, the city is buzzing with preparations. Shoppers crowd the markets, volunteers decorate the ghats, and families prepare for rituals and arrangements.

To ensure a smooth and safe celebration, MLA Tankadhar Tripathy personally visited various water bodies. These included Chowkipada, Buromal, Talpatia, BTM, and Buxi Chowk, along with the Ib river banks. During his inspection, he reviewed the ongoing cleaning drives, lighting setups, and crowd management measures.

The MLA directed officials to maintain strict safety standards and ensure that no untoward incidents occur during the rituals. He also emphasized cleanliness and proper illumination around the ghats for the convenience of thousands of devotees expected to gather.

Accompanying him during the inspection were key officials including Executive Engineer Satyaban Patel, Junior Engineer S. Pradhan, SDPO Umashankar Singh, Town IIC Ranjan Bariha, and BTM IIC Swapnarani Gochhayat. Several local leaders and volunteers were also present to coordinate the preparations.

With collective efforts from the administration, volunteers, and the community, Jharsuguda is all set to celebrate Chhath Puja 2025 with devotion, discipline, and enthusiasm.
