Boudh, Odisha : In the 2024 general elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a historic victory in the Boudh and Kantamal constituencies of Boudh district, a significant event in the Boudh Political Scenario. After the elections, the BJP remained energetic and visible, working hard to strengthen its base at the grassroots level. The party organized regular meetings, recruited new members, and celebrated key occasions such as the party’s foundation day and Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary. It also protested sharply by burning Sonia Gandhi’s effigy over her alleged remarks against the President.
Meanwhile, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), though the main opposition in the district, appears mostly inactive. The party conducted a few drives and meetings, yet avoided taking a firm stance against the ruling BJP. Its criticisms stayed confined to press conferences, where leaders raised concerns about lawlessness in Dhanmandi and issues of arson and layoffs. This low-profile approach has sparked wide discussions that the BJD is operating passively in Boudh.
The Congress Party looks even less active. The district Congress unit has not initiated any major movement or campaign against the BJP, which deepens public doubts about its effectiveness as an opposition party.
At present, both the BJD and Congress face growing public skepticism. Their soft posture toward the BJP raises questions about their willingness to challenge the ruling party. Instead of amplifying their voices, both parties seem cautious and subdued, leaving citizens uncertain about their intent.
As political debates intensify in Boudh, all attention turns to the coming months. Will the BJD and Congress continue their soft stance, or will they emerge as strong opposition forces? The outcome will define the political narrative of Boudh and influence the district’s democratic future.
