Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leadership has announced the appointment of new district presidents for four key districts in Odisha—Ganjam, Kendrapara, Kalahandi, and Cuttack. The appointments were made by BJD supremo and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as part of the party’s ongoing organizational restructuring.
In a significant move, senior party leader and former legislator Bikram Panda has been entrusted with the responsibility of heading the party in Ganjam district. Similarly, Shiv Prasad Bhol has been appointed the new BJD district president for Kendrapara, while Pradeep Dishari of Lanjigarh will now lead party affairs in Kalahandi.
In Cuttack, Profulla Singh has replaced Debashish Samantaray as the district president. His removal indicates a strategic shift in BJD’s leadership dynamics in one of the state’s most politically important districts.
However, the party is yet to finalize district presidents for four other districts. The delay indicates continued internal deliberations on leadership choices amid a changing political landscape in the state.
