Gaya: As the Bihar Assembly elections heat up, internal discontent has surfaced in Magadh after Gaya District Council President and party leader Naina Kumari launched a sharp attack on the state leadership, accusing it of “openly betraying” the party’s ideology and “Rahul Gandhi’s vision of social justice” during the Bihar Congress ticket distribution.
Moreover, addressing reporters, Naina Kumari said, “Among the supporters, workers, and Congress family members who have faith in the people’s leader Rahul Gandhi, there is today deep sorrow and anger. In Bihar, some party leaders have openly betrayed Rahul Gandhi’s vision, thoughts, and work for the people in the name of Bihar Congress ticket distribution.”
She also criticised the seat-sharing arrangement under the Mahagathbandhan, stating that of the seven seats allotted to Congress in the region, party leaders gave six to candidates from the general category and only one to a candidate from a reserved category. This raised concerns about fairness in the Congress ticket distribution.
“The land of Magadh, where the voice of justice, equality, and fairness has always been strong, allocating six out of seven seats to the general category and only one to a reserved category under the alliance not only unbalances representation but also goes against the core principles of Congress ideology. Therefore, this decision contradicts the principle of social justice,” she said.
Naina Kumari Blasts Bihar Congress Ticket Allocation
Furthermore, Naina Kumari accused Bihar in-charges Rajesh Ram, Krishna Alavaru, and Devendra Yadav of showing “biased behaviour” and manipulating the Bihar Congress ticket distribution.
“These leaders have undermined Rahul Gandhi’s policies and vision. In addition, they engaged in all kinds of malpractices in ticket distribution. Rahul Gandhi has always advocated for justice for the last person in society. Unfortunately, some leaders in Bihar who politicise in his name betray Rahul Gandhi by misusing his name. Consequently, this also betrays the hard work, hopes, and loyalty of millions of workers,” she alleged.
She added that Congress has historically stood for backward classes, extremely backward classes, women, and members of marginalized communities, but some leaders have compromised these principles in the current Bihar Congress ticket distribution.
“Jananayak Rahul Gandhi said that women, backward classes, extremely backward classes, and marginalized groups should be brought into the mainstream. Similarly, I am a woman from an extremely backward community. However, party leaders gave my share to someone else. This is a matter of great insult and sorrow for us. Thus, some leaders compromised the party’s policies for personal benefits. Therefore, we condemn this process,” she added.
Finally, calling for corrective action, Naina Kumari demanded that the Congress high command review the issue immediately and restore social balance in Magadh in terms of the Bihar Congress ticket distribution.
