Bhadrak, Odisha : Bhadrak Town Police have launched a strict crackdown on illegally modified bike silencers that cause loud and disturbing noise across the city. This comes in response to increasing public complaints about young bikers creating panic and nuisance with high-decibel exhaust sounds.
Acting on the instructions of Bhadrak SP Manoj Raut, police have started seizing motorcycles fitted with illegal aftermarket silencers. These modified parts not only violate traffic norms but have also been causing fear and disturbance among local residents.
In a bold step reminiscent of similar actions in Uttar Pradesh, the seized silencers are being destroyed by running them over with road rollers — a move that has sparked discussion and approval from the public.
Bhadrak Town Police aim to raise awareness and send a strong message against noise pollution and reckless riding through this campaign. Authorities have warned that strict legal action will follow for repeated violations.
