Talcher, Odisha: The Ananta DAV Table Tennis Championship took center stage, celebrating the true spirit of sportsmanship at DAV Public School, Ananta Vihar, under the banner of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited. The much-awaited DAV Cluster and Zonal Level Table Tennis Tournament lit up Talcher as young paddlers smashed their way through an electrifying, action-packed event filled with energy and excitement.
Players from across the DAV Odisha Zone came together to prove their mettle. Moreover, it was a spectacular display of skill, focus, and youthful passion. In the Under-17 Boys’ category, 15 talented players from four DAV schools battled it out for top honors. Additionally, they kept the crowd hooked with every rally at the championship, which has now become a key fixture in the Ananta DAV Table Tennis Championship calendar.
After some intense face-offs, DAV Public School, CDA Cuttack, clinched the championship title. Meanwhile, DAV BSV Sunabeda, Koraput, emerged as the runners-up, showcasing true grit and sportsmanship. As a result, both teams received loud cheers from the audience, celebrating their hard work and discipline.
Adding to the excitement, School Chairman Shubhendu Shekhar Bose awarded the winners with glittering trophies. Furthermore, he applauded their dedication and competitive spirit, remarking,
“It’s not just about winning, but about growing through every game.” His words inspired the young athletes to keep pushing their limits and strive for excellence.
The tournament ran seamlessly thanks to the tireless efforts of referees and coordinators Kshirod Chandra Pradhan and Hridananda Panda. They not only ensured fair play but also maintained a professional atmosphere throughout the event.
Behind the scenes, teachers Dhiren Pradhan, Mahendra Kumar Behera, Rabinarayan Panda, Sagarika Nayak, and Ritarani Tripathy played a major role in organizing the championship. In addition, they motivated students to give their best and upheld the spirit of teamwork.
