Bhubaneswar, Odisha : In a landmark step aimed at accelerating healthcare innovation and promoting clinical entrepreneurship in Odisha, AIIMS Bhubaneswar today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KIIT-Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI) and Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC) Foundation. The collaboration is set to position the state at the forefront of healthcare technology development and research.
The partnership seeks to establish a robust platform for developing, validating, and deploying advanced healthcare technologies, while accelerating innovation growth and attracting healthcare startups to Odisha. The MoU also envisages the creation of joint Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in healthcare, diagnostics, and digital health, designed to drive clinical innovation and research.
The signing ceremony, held at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, was attended by Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Biswas, Executive Director, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, and Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, CEO, KIIT-TBI & Chairman, BCKIC.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Biswas stated, “This strategic partnership will position AIIMS Bhubaneswar as a national translational innovation hub, fostering the development of medical products, advancing technology, promoting effective IP management, and strengthening clinical entrepreneurship across the region.”
Under the MoU, AIIMS, KIIT-TBI, and BCKIC will collaborate on :

Innovation & Startup Programs: Bootcamps, regulatory workshops, and startup-investor roundtables.

Healthcare Technology Validation: Real-world testing of telehealth platforms, AI-based diagnostics, and remote monitoring devices.

Skill Development & Entrepreneurship: Promoting clinical innovation, technology transfer, and incubation of healthcare startups.

Centres of Excellence: Equipped with advanced diagnostic tools, clinical validation pathways, and cutting-edge research facilities.
The ceremony was also graced by Dr. Namrata Misra (CEO, BCKIC & Advisor, KIIT-TBI), Dr. Satyajeet Misra (Dean, Research, AIIMS), Dr. Rituparna Maiti (Secretary, MoU Committee, AIIMS), Dr. Jayalaxmi Dash (Manager, Tech-Innovation, KIIT-TBI), and Mr. Arpan Ghosh (Manager, BCKIC).
