Honda Cars India cuts prices up to ₹95,500 after GST reform

New Delhi  : Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) on Tuesday announced major price cuts across its popular models after the government rolled out the GST Reforms 2025. The revised prices will apply from September 22, just ahead of the festive season.

The company said the Honda Amaze 2nd Gen will cost up to ₹72,800 less, while the newly launched Amaze 3rd Gen will drop by ₹95,500. The Honda Elevate will see a reduction of ₹58,400, and the Honda City will fall by ₹57,500.

Customers who book cars now can claim both the GST-linked reductions and the ongoing festive offers. Deliveries under the new price list will begin from Navratri.

“We welcome the Government’s GST Reforms 2025, which come at a crucial time for the auto sector. These measures will make vehicles more accessible and strengthen festive demand,” said Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India.

Behl urged buyers to make early bookings to secure deliveries during the festive season and enjoy maximum savings from both tax cuts and dealership discounts. Honda confirmed that dealerships will release variant-wise prices soon.

The government will lower GST on small cars, motorcycles up to 350cc, three-wheelers, buses, trucks, and ambulances from 28 per cent to 18 per cent starting September 22. This change will make several budget-friendly vehicles cheaper by nearly 10 per cent.

Models such as the Maruti Suzuki Alto, Hyundai Grand i10, and Tata Tiago will become more affordable. Two-wheeler buyers will also benefit, with reductions expected for the Honda Shine, Bajaj Pulsar, Honda Activa, and Hero Splendor.

The timing of the tax cut, combined with festive schemes, could fuel strong demand in the passenger vehicle market. Automakers believe that buyers who postponed purchases may return to showrooms during Navratri and Diwali, boosting sales in the entry-level and compact car segments.

Industry watchers expect the reforms to revive momentum in the auto sector, which has faced cost pressures in recent months. Dealers are also preparing attractive festive schemes across models to complement the lower GST rates.

Honda said it aims to pass on every benefit to customers and make ownership easier during the high-demand season.
