Mumbai : Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is currently balancing his shooting schedule for ‘Bigg Boss 19’ alongside his upcoming film ‘Galwan’.
On Tuesday, Salman shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the film’s set on Instagram. The image captures him peeking through the clapperboard during the 86th scene, giving his first take in a close-up shot.
In the picture, Salman dons combat fatigues, including a jacket with insignia and layers of the old Personal Camouflage Disruptive Pattern Material (PC DPM). Since the Galwan stand-off occurred in 2020-2021, his character’s attire reflects that period. The PC DPM uniform has since been replaced by the New Battle Dress Uniform (NBDU) of the Indian National Camouflage (INCAM), unveiled on January 15, 2022, during the 74th Army Day Parade in New Delhi. The new pattern was developed in collaboration with NIFT.
The photo also reveals a wound along Salman’s side face, complementing the realistic portrayal. He captioned the post, “#BattleOfGalwan”.
The film depicts the Galwan clash between India and China on June 15, 2020, amid the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Indian and Chinese troops engaged in hand-to-hand combat in the Galwan Valley, eastern Ladakh, part of a wider border standoff along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The violent encounter resulted in the death of 20 Indian soldiers, while China also suffered casualties. The clash marked the deadliest India–China confrontation in over 40 years, heightening tensions and prompting both nations to bolster troop deployments and engage in diplomatic negotiations.
Since then, India and China have gradually mended relations, opening multiple diplomatic channels, even as India navigates trade tensions with the USA, China’s strategic rival in the West.
