Mumbai : Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is making waves at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2025, celebrating the spirit of cinema, courage, and storytelling.
Huma took to Instagram and shared a series of pictures from the red carpet and Toronto’s picturesque streets, flaunting a stunning blue outfit. She wrote:
“A night that celebrates cinema, courage, and couture as well. From the heart of India to the red carpet in Toronto to the stories we bring to life, may we always stand tall, fierce, and free.”
Her thriller “Bayaan”, directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra, received official selection at TIFF 2025. The film is the sole Indian entry in the Discovery section, which introduced filmmakers like Christopher Nolan, Alfonso Cuarón, and Barry Jenkins.
The movie features a stellar cast including Chandrachur Singh, Sachin Khedekar, Paritosh Sand, Avijit Dutt, Vibhore Mayank, Sampa Mandal, Swati Das, Aditi Kanchan Singh, and Perry Chhabra. Huma plays Roohi Kartar, a police officer in this investigative procedural drama.
Huma last appeared in the biopic “Tarla”, based on Indian chef and cookbook author Tarla Dalal. She will next feature in “Jolly LLB 3”, a courtroom comedy-drama directed by Subhash Kapoor, alongside Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Amrita Rao, and Saurabh Shukla.
She also stars in “Pooja Meri Jaan” with Mrunal Thakur, following a girl stalked by an unidentified admirer.
Additionally, Huma will appear in “Gulabi”, directed by Vipul Mehta, where she plays an auto-rickshaw driver. The film portrays the true story of a woman who inspired others to reclaim their destinies.
