Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Odisha is fast-tracking its industrial growth under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, approving ₹4,515 crore worth of investments at the 139th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja, IAS. The 19 projects cleared across 8 districts – Angul, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda – are projected to create 8,200 employment opportunities, boosting inclusive development and strengthening regional economies.
The approvals reflect Odisha’s balanced approach to industrial growth, promoting traditional sectors like steel, infrastructure, and tourism, alongside emerging sunrise sectors such as Green Energy, Electric Vehicles, Data Centres, Bio-fuels, Pharmaceuticals, and IT infrastructure, in line with the vision of Samrudha Odisha 2036.
Major Sectoral Highlights :
1. Green Energy & Green Hydrogen:
- INOX Solar Ltd, Dhenkanal – Will establish a 5 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Assembly Plant with an investment of ₹283 crore, expected to generate 51 direct jobs. This facility will strengthen Odisha’s renewable energy ecosystem and support energy storage solutions for the region.
- Jindal Stainless Ltd, Jajpur – Plans to set up a Green Hydrogen Manufacturing Unit with a capacity of 1500 Nm3/hr, investing ₹90 crore and creating 89 skilled jobs. The project will promote clean energy and decarbonize industrial operations.
- Raipur-based Green Energy Company, Ganjam – Will set up a 2 GW Solar Cell Manufacturing Unit with an investment of ₹750 crore, generating 515 jobs. This large-scale facility will contribute significantly to India’s solar energy manufacturing capacity.
2. Waste Management:
- Gravita India Ltd, Angul – Proposed comprehensive recycling and lead recovery unit to manufacture refined lead, alloys, and PP granules. With ₹350 crore investment, the unit is expected to create 270 jobs, strengthening Odisha’s circular economy and promoting sustainable industrial practices.
3. Pharmaceuticals:
- Starcaps Global LLP, Khordha – Will set up a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility to produce essential pharmaceutical products, investing ₹80 crore and generating 145 jobs. This initiative will enhance Odisha’s capacity in life sciences and healthcare manufacturing.
4. Tourism & Hospitality:
- Padma Hospitality Pvt Ltd, Jagatsinghpur – Plans a three-star hotel with an investment of ₹59.91 crore, creating 181 jobs and promoting local tourism infrastructure.
- SNM Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd, Jagatsinghpur – Will develop a four-star hotel and resort facility with ₹92.32 crore investment, creating 173 jobs, enhancing Odisha’s hospitality offerings.
- Orissa Stevedores Ltd, Paradip, Jagatsinghpur – Plans a five-star hotel, investing ₹211 crore and generating 350 jobs, catering to high-end tourism and business travel.
5. Bio-Fuels:
- Vibrant Spirits Pvt Ltd, Sundargarh – Will establish a compressed biogas unit with a capacity of 4,000 MTPA, investing ₹50 crore and creating 725 jobs. This green energy initiative will promote renewable energy and sustainable rural development.
6. Steel & Downstream Industries:
- Betabuilds Technologies Pvt Ltd, Sundargarh – Will set up a steel processing unit for ERW pipes, PEB manufacturing, and HR coil slitting with 3,88,000 MT per annum capacity, investing ₹131.55 crore and creating 400 jobs.
- Konark Ispat Ltd, Jharsuguda – Expanding operations with a 0.35 MTPA Rolling Mill, 0.6 MTPA Pellet Plant, 70 MW Captive Power Plant, 0.54 MTPA DRI Plant, and 0.50 MTPA Billet Plant. The ₹990 crore investment will generate 2,000 jobs, reinforcing Odisha’s steel production capabilities.
7. Infrastructure & Logistics:
- Shree Jagannath Carriers Pvt Ltd, Angul – Establishing a logistics park and warehousing facility with ₹111.90 crore investment, expected to create 300 jobs, enhancing supply chain efficiency.
- Sapient Resources Pvt Ltd, Angul – Will set up a 2X3 MTPA coal washery project with ₹70 crore investment, generating 300 jobs and supporting Odisha’s mining and industrial sector.
8. Electric Vehicles & Digital Infrastructure:
- Sanaka Auto Corp Ltd, Khordha – Proposed EV manufacturing plant with an annual capacity of 10,000 units, investing ₹300 crore and creating 145 jobs, contributing to clean mobility initiatives.
8. Digital & IT Infrastructure :
- Shreetech Data Ltd, Khordha – Will develop a hyperscale data centre facility, investing ₹501 crore and generating 450 jobs, strengthening IT infrastructure in the state.
- West Edge Data Centres Pvt Ltd, Khordha – Plans a data centre and satellite internet services unit, investing ₹50.50 crore and creating 190 jobs, enhancing Odisha’s digital economy.
9. Food & Beverages:
- Elixir of East – The Artisan Distillery LLP, Khordha – Investing ₹93.65 crore in a spirit manufacturing unit, creating 110 jobs and promoting artisan beverage production.
- Associated Alcohols and Breweries Ltd, Khordha – Will set up a 200 KLPD grain-based distillery with IMFL bottling unit, investing ₹300 crore and creating 1,812 jobs, boosting food & beverage manufacturing capacity.
