Odisha Launches “Aasa School Jiba” to Boost Enrolment

Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Odisha government has launched a strong push for universal enrolment through its “Aasa School Jiba” campaign for 2025–26. On Saturday, schools across the state held Parent-Teacher and School Management & Development Committee (SMDC) meetings to involve families in the drive.

The campaign identifies out-of-school children and places them in age-appropriate classes. Teachers and community leaders discussed ways to prevent dropouts and help children continue learning.

Officials stressed that education requires a supportive ecosystem where every child remains in school and enjoys the right to learn.

Parents across districts took a “Group Pledge.” They promised to cooperate with schools, track attendance, and ensure no child is left out. They also vowed to help build safe and joyful classrooms that encourage regular learning.

“Education cannot succeed without parents and communities working together,” said a senior education officer.

Senior officers from the School & Mass Education Department visited several districts. They guided teachers, interacted with parents, and reviewed the progress of the campaign. Officials urged schools to partner with communities and raise enrolment levels.

The Aasa School Jiba campaign shows Odisha’s commitment to inclusive education. By linking government support, teacher effort, and parental involvement, the state aims to make schools accessible and welcoming for every child.
