Indian Air Force Airlifts Injured CRPF Jawans After Tragic Bus Accident in Jammu & Kashmir

New Delhi : The Indian Air Force (IAF) airlifted 18 injured CRPF jawans to the Udhampur Military Hospital after a devastating road accident near Basantgarh, Jammu & Kashmir. The tragedy struck when a CRPF bus of the 187 Battalion, carrying jawans from Kodwa to Basantgarh, plunged nearly 200 feet into a gorge following heavy rains.

According to official reports, the mishap occurred around 10:30 AM near Kandhva, claiming the lives of three jawans and leaving several others critically injured. The torrential downpour is believed to have caused the vehicle to lose control on the treacherous hilly terrain.

The IAF’s emergency response was nothing short of exemplary. Within 35 minutes of receiving the distress call, a helicopter was dispatched, conducting multiple sorties to evacuate the critically injured personnel and their family members. This rapid response underlined the Air Force’s unwavering commitment to saving lives when every second counts.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families, honoring the sacrifice of the fallen jawans and assuring full support to the injured.
