New Delhi : Seventeen Members of Parliament were conferred with the prestigious Sansad Ratna Award 2025 on Saturday, recognising their outstanding performance in the Lok Sabha. The awards, instituted by a private organisation, celebrate excellence in parliamentary contributions such as debates, private member bills, and questions raised.
Among the recipients were Ravi Kishan, Nishikant Dubey, and Dinesh Sharma of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rashtra Gayakwad from the Congress, and Arvind Sawant representing Shiv Sena (UBT).
On this occasion, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju applauded the initiative, stating that the awards serve as a meaningful recognition of MPs who demonstrate consistent dedication and performance in the House. He extended his congratulations to all the awardees.
In addition to the regular category, four MPs were honoured with the Special Jury Award for maintaining exceptional performance over three consecutive Lok Sabhas. The recipients include:
Bhartruhari Mahtab (BJP, Odisha), N.K. Premachandran (Revolutionary Socialist Party), Supriya Sule (NCP – Sharad Pawar faction), Srirang Apa Barne (Shiv Sena)
These leaders have consistently demonstrated legislative acumen and active participation since the 16th Lok Sabha.
Other MPs recognised for their outstanding performance in the current Lok Sabha include: Smita Uday Wagh (BJP), Naresh Mahaske (Shiv Sena), Medha Kulkarni (BJP), Praveen Patel (BJP), Vidyut Baral Mahto (BJP), Dilip Saikia (BJP).
The Standing Committee on Finance, chaired by Bhartruhari Mahatab, and the Standing Committee on Agriculture, led by Dr. Charanjit Singh Channi, were also felicitated for the quality of their reports and significant contributions to legislative oversight.
